Thomas "Tom" A. Nekola

Thomas "Tom" A. Nekola, age 66, of Harwood Heights IL, passed away July 19, 2021.  Born December 1,1954 in Alton, IL.  Father of Neil P. Nekola; loving son of the late Thomas and the late Astrid Nekola; brother of Ilene Jones, Catherine Petty, James Nekola, the late Ellen Jane Kasyan and the late Paul Nekola; uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

Tom was a lover of music and literature, spending most of his time writing music, playing his guitar, and reading. He was a member of the “Praise Band” for Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday evening worship. As an avid Cubs fan, he took great joy in going to the games and watching them on television. He also enjoyed playing golf when he could, especially with his brother-in-law Keith Kasyan, and watching the sport when he had the time. Tom was a 1972 graduate of Maine South High School, Park Ridge, Illinois. He was loved by some lifelong friends who enjoyed spending time together and reminiscing about the good old times they shared.

Tom’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at All Saints Cemetery Chapel, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
