Emblem

Scott Henry Altman, age 51, of Berkeley, passed away May 30, 2021.  Beloved lifelong partner for 27 years of Maria L. Lukas; loving son of the late Robert and the late Bernice, nee Van Dyke; dear brother of Sue (Mark) Bell, Jeff Altman and Salli (Ward) Brady; uncle of Amber, Mark (Elizabeth) and Rachel Bell and great uncle of Carter Bell;  fond nephew of Pat Altman and Greg (Kelly) Altman.

Scott’s athleticism provided the foundation for his love of sports.  He loved all water sport activities, excelled at snow skiing and was mesmerized by a good campfire.  He also enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears.  His greatest passion, however, was NASCAR races.   Scott was a gentle and loving soul that gave an immense amount of love to others, especially the love of his life.  Saving every card and love letter he ever received from Maria is just one characterization of his caring nature and depth of love for her.  Always wearing his emotions on his face, one easily knew where they stood with him.  Scott’s kind disposition made him easy to love and party with.  He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A Memorial Visitation was held Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison.  The Celebration of Life Service was live streamed and can be viewed below.   Interment private.
