Michael John Diegel, 51, passed suddenly November 28, 2017.  Beloved husband and partner for 31 years of Roxane Lisette Vittori; adored father of Corinne and Callie; devoted son of Helen (nee Ryan) and the late Roger Diegel and son-in-law of Wayne and Rosemary Vittori; loving brother of Roger (Heidi), Paul (Cassie), Mona Ann, David (Carrie) and Mary Helen Diegel and brother-in-law of Vickie (Randy) Gentry, Wendy Vittori (Angela) and Wayne Vittori; cherished uncle of 12.  Mike was born and raised in Michigan and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 from the University of Notre Dame.  He never met a stranger and was always the life of any party.  He was an enthusiastic bird watcher and hater of squirrels, as well as the fearless leader of the Wandering Shamrocks Harmonica Band. Mike’s wit, humor and fun-loving nature will always be celebrated by all who had the good fortune of crossing his path. He will be remembered for his love of life, kindheartedness, and most of all, his undying devotion to his daughters and wife to whom he leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love.  Visitation, Friday, December 1st, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 Spring Rd., Elmhurst.  Friends and family will meet Saturday, December 2nd for visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 145 E. Grand Ave., Bensenville.  Interment private.  Any memorial contributions made in Mike's memory may be given  to the family directly and will be used toward the completion of Callie's college education.
