Mary Clements Obituary

Mary J. Clements, 83, of La Crosse, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospital surrounded by her three daughters.

She was born on August 2nd, 1940, in Exeland, WI to the late Anthony “Tony” Repinski and Ida Mae (Flum) Repinski.

On February 10th, 1962, she married Lloyd Clements at St. Pius X Catholic Church in La Crosse. Mary was a beloved, dedicated wife and mother and took care of her daughters until the youngest was in high school. She then entered the workforce and retired as an office administrator at a local financial institution.

Mary gave back to the community and loved volunteering during her time as a member of Holy Trinity Church, and then Mary, Mother of the Church. She volunteered at St. Peter’s School, Moose Lodge #1920, Nakomis Grandmothers Club where she was President and Grandmother of the Year in 2012, and worked countless hours at the Aquinas High School sporting events. She was an avid sports enthusiast and attended all of her children and grandchildren’s activities.  She also enjoyed gardening, reading, camping, snowmobiling, watching demolition derbies, and spending time with family and friends.  Her true calling was baking for holidays, community events, and for her family.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Sheila Clements (Alice Jandrisits), Barbara Clements, and Tina (Jeff) Ross; three grandsons, Lukas Arenz, and Justin and Brandon Ross; sister, Carol (Richard) Luce; sisters-in-law, Catherine Meier, Beverly (Thomas) Tormey, Shirley (James) Fema, and brother-in-law, Larry (Judy) Clements and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and daughter, Sarah; parents-in-law, Emil and Emma Clements; sister, Vera (Alger) Stevens; brothers, Tony Repinski and Adam Repinski; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Eugene) Hohlfeld; and brother-in-law, James (Clara) Clements.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors for the special care given to our mother at Good Shepherd Hospital.
