Gertrude "Trude" (Michel) Miller

Gertrude “Trude” Miller, nee Michel, 72, of Elgin, passed away February 3, 2023.  Beloved wife of the late Jack; loving mother of Bridget (Don) LaRocco and Monica (Kevin) Blocker; cherished grandmother of Miles and Bella; devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Michel and daughter in law of the late Clarence and Ruth Miller; loving sister of Rosa (the late Donald) Tufano, the late Joseph (Donna) Michel, the late Stephen (the late Erika) Michel and the late Dorothy “Dot” (Michael) Thompson and sister in law of Jerry (the late Pat) Miller, Jeanne (Tony) Hartmann, the late Joanne (Steven) Walczynski and the late Jim Miller; adored aunt and great aunt of many.

Trude was a phenomenal gardener.  She had an amazing green thumb and was able to propagate plants from anywhere she found plants she liked.  Trude was an excellent cook and enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock and watching classic movies on the TCM channel.  A lifelong and die hard Cubs fan, the 2016 World Series win was one of the best days of her life.  She also had a great love for the outdoors with Autumn being her favorite time of the year.  Trude shared that passion with her children and grandchildren, who were her absolute greatest joy.

Visitation Saturday, February 11th, 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela St. (Ela & Franklin), Barrington.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.  The Funeral Mass was live streamed.  Click here to watch the Mass.
