Evelyn Cruz

Evelyn Cruz, 66, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on September 14, 2022.  Beloved mother of Manuel Galvez and Victor Torres; cherished grandmother of Tatianna Galvez; devoted daughter of Francisco and Candida Cruz; loving sister of Victor (Celia) Cruz, William Cruz, Ida Medina, Marizol Cruz, Nancy (David) Rodriguez and the late Francisco Cruz Jr. and Marcelina Cook; dearest aunt and great aunt of many.

Evelyn was a 45-year employee of Sipi Corporation where she worked as a manager in customer service and was beloved by the entire company.  She was a very creative crafter, with many of her crafts displayed throughout her home and she prospered with many sales of her beautiful items.  She was also an outstanding cook and kind and caring person who always made herself available to help others.  She was strong, feisty and had great sense of humor.  Evelyn always woke to the day with great energy and happiness.  Family was Evelyn’s greatest joy and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.   

A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, September 23rd, 4:00 p.m. until Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 p.m. at Casey & Rios Funeral Home, 4540-50 W. Diversey Ave., Chicago.  Interment private.
