Deborah L. (Byrne) Bakanec

Deborah L. Bakanec, nee Byrne, 69, of Winthrop Harbor, passed away March 4, 2020.  Loving mother of Brett (Jessamyn) and Allison Bakanec; cherished grandmother of Matthew and Gracelyn Bakanec;   devoted daughter of Constance Byrne, nee Mueller and the late Frank Byrne;  dearest sister of  Connie Meek, Lisa Byrne-Prescott, Frank Byrne, Mary Prochotsky, Melanie Smith and Wendy Dubreuil.

Deborah was quite social and loved meeting new people.  Having fun was a high priority and she fulfilled this mission often through many new activities with MEETUP.   Traveling to faraway places and seeing the sites on cruise ships was one of her favorite pastimes.  As a real estate agent, Deborah was not only successful in her career, but was also skilled at everything she did.  Her vast talent and knowledge in many different fields made her a true Renaissance Woman.  Deborah’s greatest passions were being a grandma and spending time with her two grandchildren.       

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, March 14th, from 2:00 – 4:00 at Northbridge Church, 18724 IL-173, Antioch.  Interment private.
