Michael D. Ryan, affectionately known by his grandkids as "Papa", peacefully passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family.
Described fondly as "The biggest kid in the room," Mike's playful nature and mischievous pranks were legendary among his family. His quick wit and endless jokes always kept those around him on their toes, anticipating what he would come up with next. He had a knack for finding humor in every situation and brightening the lives of those he encountered. Mike was also known for always having a solution better than you and "having a guy" if he didn't.
Mike was a pillar of support for his family and friends. Whether as a dedicated truck driver or a respected police officer, he always went above and beyond to lend a helping hand to those in need. His commitment to ensuring the happiness of those around him was unwavering.
Throughout his life, Mike found immense happiness in his marriage to Nancy. Raising a beautiful family together and cherishing precious moments with his grandchildren were among his proudest accomplishments. His love for photography, playing cards, birdwatching, and enjoying time on the pontoon boat in Michigan brought him immense joy. Whether cheering on his grandsons at hockey games or embarking on memorable vacations with his daughters, Mike cherished every moment spent with those he held dear. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, and his passion for creating lasting memories was evident in every photograph he took.
