John C. Polaski passed away suddenly on September 14, 2024, at the age of 61 at his home in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Born on October 4, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, John lived a life marked by his commitment to his career and family.
John was an esteemed electrician with Local 134, serving for 40 years. His work not only showcased expertise but also represented his dedication to his craft and the community. He was actively involved in the Cedar Lake Chamber of Commerce, where he contributed to various local initiatives geared toward improving community welfare.
A proud graduate of Brother Rice High School, John was known for his vibrant personality and his social spirit. He enjoyed having a good time, embracing every opportunity to connect with others. His enthusiasm for storytelling was infectious, and he had a talent for making any gathering lively.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, John's greatest pride rested in his role as a father. He cherished his children, John and Alec, and maintained a very good and strong relationship with his former wife, Dina. His love for his family knew no bounds, and his devotion to them was evident in all aspects of his life.
John had many hobbies, particularly boating and fishing, activities he relished during his leisure time. He loved the time spent on his boat and with his dog, Shelby. He approached life with a cheerful heart and a willingness to help anyone in need, reflecting his generous spirit and kindness.
In addition to his cherished sons, John and Alec and his dear former wife, Dina, John is survived by his loving siblings, James Polaski (Natalie) and Linda Alexandra; his beloved uncle, Dan Polaski; and his adored niece, Lisa Kuznaki and great niece, Mariah Beger. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Polaski.
Visitation for John will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 5:30 PM at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy., Palos Hills, IL. Interment will be private.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his contagious enthusiasm, his unwavering love for his family, and his passion for life.
