Heidi A. Bianchi (née Burgardt), an adored mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in North Aurora, Illinois, at the age of 82. Born on December 13, 1943, in Poland, Heidi’s life was defined by compassion, resilience, and enduring devotion to her loved ones.

Heidi’s early life in Germany shaped her resilient character and compassionate presence. As a young woman, she embarked on a professional path as a bookkeeper, demonstrating diligence and attention to detail in her work. Later, she joined the Archdiocese of Chicago and served at Old St. Patrick’s Church, where her commitment and integrity earned her respect and affection from colleagues and parishioners alike.

Known for her warm-hearted nature, Heidi had a special gift for making those around her feel valued and supported. She dedicated her life to spreading joy, offering a helping hand in times of need, and comforting words when they mattered most. Her generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Heidi found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A passionate fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs, she cheered faithfully for her teams, savoring victories and weathering defeats with equal grace and good humor. She took special delight in baking—a joy she loved to share—and never turned down a cup of decaf coffee, which often accompanied treasured conversations with family and friends. She looked forward to her weekly card games in Genoa with her friends.

Central to Heidi’s life was her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Don (Kathy) Bianchi and Mark (Brandy) Bianchi; her cherished grandchildren, Victoria Ofenlock (Matt Drozd), Cameron Bianchi, Joshua (Ava) Bianchi, Faith Bianchi, Chad Bianchi, Valentina Canonaco (Peter Rogoz), and Emmajean Bergquist; and her dear siblings, Alex (the late Jana) Burgardt and Marie (the late John) Maurer.

Heidi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Bianchi, with whom she shared many years of companionship and love. She also joins her parents, Peter and Margaret Burgardt; and siblings, Adolf (the late Etterine), Peter, and Veronica Burgardt in eternal rest, a reunion surely marked by peace and love.
