Frances D. Ruffalo, born on June 29, 1945, in Chicago, IL, peacefully passed away on June 6, 2026, in Elk Grove Village, IL. With a spirit marked by creativity, artistry, and boundless generosity, Frances leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that touched every life she encountered.
For 45 years, Frances dedicated herself as a lab technician at Motorola, demonstrating steadfast commitment and skill. Yet beyond her professional achievements, it was her vibrant personality and tender heart that truly defined her. Frances was a woman who cherished looking her best—always impeccably styled with her hair perfectly done, makeup and eyelashes artfully applied, and adorned in beautiful clothes and jewelry. This care mirrored the pride she took in all aspects of her life.
Her home blossomed with the aroma of freshly baked treats, as Frances delighted in baking and decorating cookies and cakes, a passion she took great pride in teaching and passing down to her great nieces. The joy of these moments, the time shared shaping frosting and memories, stood among her proudest accomplishments. She also savored simple pleasures like playing games, particularly Tiles, and treasured the lively lunches she shared with friends, the laughter and companionship therein enriching her days.
Frances was deeply loved by her family, who remember her as a loving and generous soul. She was the devoted daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Ruffalo (nee Mazzuca); loving sister of Frank (Sharon) and the late Anthony Rocky Ruffalo; treasured aunt of Gina (Rick) Conover, Jaime (Greg) Hosford, Frank Ruffalo, and Liza (Mike) Bender; and adored great aunt of Emily, Danielle, Gavin, Mikayla, Grace, and Natalie. Her memory lives on in each of them, cherished through stories, lessons, and the warmth of shared moments.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 1005 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, where those touched by her life may come together to celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Frances to Misericordia, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL 60660.
