Steven Thomas Watwood

Steven Thomas Watwood, 48, of Elgin, passed away June 11, 2018, after a valiant battle with colon cancer.  Beloved husband of Donna L., nee Wright; cherished father of Madison, Megan and Morgan; devoted son of the late James and Jeanette, nee Johnson and son-in-law of Walter and Judy Wright, nee Autry; loving brother of Michael, Laura Dixon and John (Teri) and brother-in-law of Dina (Tripp) Chapman; dearest uncle of Steffanie Dixon, Matthew (Nikki) Johnson, Caitlin Watwood (David, fiancé), Frank Jr. (Jodie), Christopher (Christopher) and Brandon (Teri) Valenzuela and Alia and Avery Chapman; dear nephew of the late Don (Carla) Watwood; fond cousin of many.  Steve proudly served his country as a US Marine. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Elmhurst College and went on to complete his Master’s Degree in Taxation from Northern Illinois University. Steve spent his career as a CPA and founded Watwood & Associates CPAs, Ltd., in 2015. He also served as a board member of Central 301 Foundation. Visitation Friday, June 15th, 3 - 9 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.), South Elgin and Saturday, June 16th from 12:15 p.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin.
