Patricia Ann "Patsy" Pickell, nee Shean, 80, passed away suddenly April 21, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Pickell, the late Raymond “Buddy” Cummings and the late Anthony Peleski; loving sister of Maureen (the late Bill) Ridgeway, the late Dr. Charles (Pamela) Shean and the late Edna (the late James) Toe; cherished aunt, great aunt, great great aunt, Godmother and step grandmother of many; dearest stepmother of Jenny (Ed) Freidheim; former wife of the late Danny Wilkomer and devoted friend of many. In addition to being blessed with a loving family, Pasty was blessed with many close friends and caregivers at Alden Nursing Home in Long Grove. Patsy was one of the original Lambs of Lambs Farm. She worked at Lambs Pet Shop, which opened in 1961 on State Street in Chicago before moving to Libertyville in 1965, where the Lambs Farm organization expanded to its current home. After her time with Lambs Farm, Patsy and her first husband, Danny, ran a newspaper stand and later Patsy managed another one on her own. Patsy was also a thirty-year member of the Irving Park Moose Club where she held a number of offices over the years while there. Patsy was very independent and lived a wonderfully full life. Among her hobbies, Pasty was a talented self taught seamstress and loved to knit. She put her talents to use by making stuffed animals for her nieces and nephews and sewed many items over the years including her first wedding dress. She was also a collector of dolls and angels and now, she is our angel and will be missed by all who knew her. Friends and family will meet at All Saints Cemetery Chapel, 600 N. River Rd., Des Plaines at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th. There will also be a memorial celebration of her life at Alden Nursing Home in Long Grove on Friday, May 10th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lambs Farm,14245 W Rockland Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048.
