Brandon Andrew Ferreira, 25, of Algonquin, passed away Dec. 30, 2017.  Beloved son of Robin and Dale Finucane and the late Manuel Ferreira; loving brother of Zachary, Martin, Ryan and Megan Finucane and Matthew and Angelina Ferreira; cherished grandson of Nancy and the late Charles Gillespie, Dale and Sandra Finucane and the late Gloria Hosein; dearest nephew of Jeff (Anna) Gillespie, Robert Elcombe, Kim (Josh) Jansky, Kelly Finucane (Rob Barnett, fiance’), Dawn (Rob) Okinski, Holly Finucane, Dorrie (Rick) Rosinski and Kenny Hosein;  fond cousin of many and he leaves behind two devoted canine companions, Izzy and Macy.  In addition to his loving family, Brandon will be missed by his many, many friends.  Brandon's life was changed in 2015 after a drunk driver struck the vehicle he was a passenger in and left him a quadriplegic.  His positive spirit and outgoing personality did not prevent him from continuing to engage in life and pursue his passions.  Brandon continued to attend college after that life altering event and was studying art and accounting.  He was an amazingly talented artist and touched many lives with his beautiful wood carvings and prints, poetry and songwriting.  Brandon was a great lover of music and found great joy in any opportunity to go fishing.  His sense of humor and bold personality brought more laughs and memories than could ever be counted.  After Brandon’s grandfather’s life was saved by a kidney transplant, he became passionate about organ donation.  With his large and generous heart, he was able to live out that passion even in death as he gave the gift of his organs and tissues to as many as thirty individuals.  A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, January 7th, 2018 from 3 – 7 p.m. with a celebration of Brandon’s life at 5 p.m. at Emmet’s Brewing Company, 128 W.
